Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Youth Program provides client-oriented, evidence-based nursing care to young individuals with onset of mental illness. This role involves assessing clients, providing interventions, educating patients and families, and monitoring progress. It also involves documentation, administrative tasks, and participation in program evaluation.
Requirements
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BScN preferred
- CPMHN (c) is an asset
- Minimum of three years psychiatric/mental health nursing experience preferred
- Evidence of ongoing recent educational activities
- Evidence of client directed practice of service delivery
- Group leadership skills and experience an asset
- Knowledge of and ability to work with complex and treatment resistant youth
- Clear understanding of MHA and relevant legislation
- CPR certification within the last 12 months
- WHMIS update in preceding 12 months
- Suicide Prevention Training and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate research and innovation into practice
- English level A- is mandatory
