Job Description
The Assistant Girls' Basketball Coach supports the Head Coach in leading, organizing, and developing the girls' basketball program. This position is responsible for assisting with player development, practice planning, game strategy, supervision of athletes, and maintaining compliance with school, district, and VHSL policies.
Requirements
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience in basketball (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and strategies
- Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Completion of state or VHSL-required coaching education/training
- Background check and clearance per school division's policy
