Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer, Marine/Waterfront Civil/Structural, to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a hands-on project delivery mindset, and a passion for engineering and problem-solving.
Requirements
- M.S. degree in Civil, Structural, Engineering required
- 9+ years of experience in structural analysis and design of structural concrete, prestressed concrete and steel structures
- Fluency on ASCE 61 and PIANC Seismic design of Port Structures Guidelines is a plus
- Registered professional engineer in the United States, or ability to obtain within 12 months of joining SGH
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Communication skills: excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills; Ability to convey information to internal and external clients clearly
- Problem-solving ability: capability to solve minor or complex problems using data, logic, and judgment. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
- Ability to travel for project site visits, client meetings, and business development, including some overnight travel and international travel
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
