Substation Relay Technician (E4A Solutions – A Subsidiary of Riot Platforms)

E4A Solutions is seeking a Substation Relay Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of substations and distribution equipment. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic, electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems within a substation environment.

Requirements

• Install, commission, test, and maintain protective relaying equipment in substations.
• Perform functional testing on control circuits for relay panels, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Develop and execute relay macros and testing routines to verify protection scheme integrity.
• Conduct end-to-end relay testing using relay test software; analyze performance based on fault types.
• Develop written standard commissioning, testing, and maintenance procedures.
• Review relay settings and logic equations to ensure alignment with system protection designs.
• Create, review, and execute substation equipment isolation and restoration switching procedures.
• Lead safety briefings and maintain a strong safety culture on job sites.
• Investigate electrical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Interpret protection and control schematic and wiring diagrams to identify errors or inconsistencies.
• Use manufacturer documentation to support relay testing and maintenance tasks.
• Assist with other duties as assigned, including electric system construction and maintenance.
