Childcare and Early Years Relief Worker

This is a pipelining opportunity to work as a Childcare and Early Years Relief Worker at Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre. The role involves assisting in program operations and service delivery for various programs under Children and Family Services, including Early ON Child and Family Centre, Headstart Childcare, Shelter Respite, Leaping Lizards, and Canadian Pre-natal Nutrition Program.

Requirements

• Diploma in Early Child Education or comparable post-secondary education
• Experience working in an early years environment essential
• Experience in program planning and delivery in accordance to How Does Learning Happen
• Excellent knowledge of child development, emergent curriculum and Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years; How Does Learning Happen
• Experience working with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds in a community based setting
• Experience and sensitivity working with all families including those in an urban core setting, culturally diverse, 2SLGBTQIA, young parents, etc…
• Organizational skills
• Interpersonal skills with both adults and children
• First Aid/CPR certificate an asset (required for Childcare)
• Experience in program planning
• Language skills in languages in addition to English are an asset
• Demonstrated ability and experience working with children with special needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children
