Job Description
This NPR position is for a PRN Ambulance Dispatcher, providing communication and administrative support between the hospital and internal/external customers. The dispatcher is the first point of contact for customers and resolves issues related to patient transportation and coordination. Responsibilities include dispatching, monitoring systems, maintaining situational awareness, and ensuring compliance.
Requirements
- Receives incoming calls from customers and prioritizes/dispatches them.
- Evaluates situations and coordinates with EMS administration.
- Maintains situational awareness and communicates incidents to EMS.
- Contributes to continuous performance improvement.
- Follows compliance responsibilities.
- Answer incoming phone calls and route them promptly.
- Maintain communication center in neat condition.
- Verify scheduled trips and contact facilities.
- Track transportation resources with CAD.
- Recommends change and provides feedback to supervisors.
