Job Description
The role of an Ambulance Dispatcher supports hospital patients during transportation, prioritizing calls, dispatching them efficiently, and providing administrative support. This position is the first point of contact for both internal and external customers, ensuring smooth and effective patient conveyance. Responsibilities include scheduling, incident reporting, compliance, and customer communication.
Requirements
- Receives incoming calls and prioritizes/dispatches them.
- Evaluates potential problems and situations.
- Provides clerical and administrative support.
- Maintains situational awareness.
- Tracks transportation resources.
- Validates schedules and requests for service.
- High School graduate or equivalent, or 6+ months as a dispatcher.
- Tech-savvy with knowledge of computer aided dispatch software (CAD). Advanced data entry skills.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Proficient in English (9+ oral and written).
