Job Description
NYLAG is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Staff Attorney to provide legal representation to immigrant survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. The role involves navigating complex immigration processes, including DV-related matters, to secure relief, remove barriers, and provide advocacy for vulnerable populations. NYLAG emphasizes client-centered, trauma-informed legal services and works to dismantle systemic racism.
Requirements
- Admission to Bar, New York State Bar required
- 2 years of immigration law experience in matters, including VAWA self-petitions
- At least 2 years of experience working with survivors of sexual and gender based violence
- Fluency in Spanish preferred
- Excellent written, oral, and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently
