Job Description
NYLAG is seeking a highly motivated Immigration Advocacy Staff Attorney to join their Special Litigation Unit, working on complex impact litigation affecting immigrants in New York City. This role involves litigation, advocacy, research, and collaboration with other NYLAG attorneys to address issues like housing, public benefits, and asylum. The attorney will work alongside the Immigrant Protection Unit, contributing to the legal services provided to immigrants in various contexts.
Requirements
- At least 3 and up to 7 years’ legal experience, including civil litigation experience.
- Excellent legal research, analysis, writing, and communication skills.
- Admission to the New York Bar.
- Experience with federal litigation and/or immigration litigation, including habeas corpus litigation.
- Experience working with the communities of clients that NYLAG serves.
