Job Description
The Crime Victims Advocate will provide specialized services for older adult crime victims, including information and referral, case assistance, individual and family counseling, crime victims' compensation claims assistance, crisis intervention, and crime prevention workshops.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, or a related field
- Experience working with victims of crime, domestic violence, or elder abuse preferred
- Strong advocacy, crisis intervention, and case management skills
- Ability to conduct home visits and travel throughout the Bronx and Upper Manhattan
- Comfortable escorting clients to precincts, court, and other necessary locations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual skills in Spanish is recommended
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case documentation systems
