Volunteer Clinical Supervisors play an essential role in the professional development of our trainees. We ask that all volunteer clinical supervisors adhere to the following criteria in their affiliation with Maple Counseling.
Requirements
- Licensed for two years as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, or Board-Certified Psychiatrist
- Maintain an active clinical license in California, in good standing with respective licensing board
- Have practiced psychotherapy for at least two of the past five years, OR, have directly supervised trainees or associates for two of the past five years
- Meet continuing education requirements in clinical supervision
- Provide Maple Counseling with a curriculum vita, copy of current license and current professional liability insurance
- Make a minimum one-year commitment to supervise one or two trainees for one hour per week via telehealth
- Complete a BBS Supervision Agreement form within 60 days of the commencement of supervision
- Sign the trainee's hours of experience weekly log for the one hour of supervision provided
- Be familiar with the policies and procedures of Maple Counseling
- Communicate with the staff group supervisor
- Participate in the trainee evaluation process once a year
