Underwriting Trainee, Property & Casualty (12-month contract)

We are looking for an Underwriting Trainee to join our team at Liberty Mutual Canada. As an Underwriting Trainee, you will be responsible for analyzing business risks, developing judgment to accept or reject new business, and pricing business in a timely manner. You will also have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers and review and develop a strong knowledge of policy coverages, broker relationships, and underwriting guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, economics, or finance
• 0-2 years of work experience (not necessarily in insurance)
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner with an appropriate level of detail and professionalism
• Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
• Ability to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions
• Strong negotiation skills
• Initiative driven and self-starter
• Strong customer service orientation
• Demonstrated organization skills and abilities
