Mechanical Engineer II (New Product Development)

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II (New Product Development) to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in Syracuse, NY. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and improvement of new and existing products.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) minimum
• 5-10 years of relevant experience
• Product design experience with electro-mechanical assembly design, injection molded component design and progressive die stamped component design
• Experience with designing products for low cost and high-volume manufacturing processes
• Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Proficient in use of CAD / Engineering Document management tools such as SolidWorks EPDM
• Ability to perform engineering calculations to evaluate designs
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience preferred
• Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, email and meeting management software
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to design products to meet UL requirements
