Electrical Engineer (New Product Development)

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer (New Product Development) to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Pass and Seymour Team in Syracuse, NY. Responsible for the design, development, and improvement of new and existing products.

Requirements

• Design, develop, analyze, and test new and existing electrical products to specifications provided by the customer and/or marketing.
• Responsible for ancillary New Product Development tasks including competitive product reverse engineering, breadboarding, circuit simulation, PCB layout, electronic component and assembly documentation, and lab guidance of product testing through third party submittals.
• Interfaces with and provides technical support to production personnel for the release of new manufacturing test programs, procedures, and equipment, and in design-for-manufacturability.
• Directs the investigation, analysis, and approval of suppliers/vendors, new materials, components, technology, bills of material, and engineering practices.
• Interfaces with Canadian Standards Association, Underwriters Laboratories, ACB (Fcc/ISED) and other Nationally Recognized Test Labs’ personnel to ensure design for compliance.
