Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Supports To Empower People (STEP) provides comprehensive community and residential services to adult men with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and compassionate in all situations, providing empowering assistance in therapeutically receptive environments.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older
• High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Valid Driver’s License with access to an insured, registered and inspected vehicle
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work weekend hours and meet on Thursdays
• Positive and supportive approach, critical thinking skills and ability to think “outside the box”
• Willingness and desire to provide services above and beyond “the norm”
• Adaptability and compassion to what the men we support need in any given moment
