We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support lawyers within our Estates, Trusts, and Tax practice group. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably supporting tax, estates and trusts, corporate, or business law practices, and will have experience with corporate minute books, corporate records, and related filings.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program or equivalent education and practical experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably supporting tax, estates and trusts, corporate, or business law practices
- Experience supporting corporate reorganizations, estate planning, or tax planning matters is a strong asset
- Familiarity with corporate minute books, corporate records, and related filings
- Proficiency with legal and administrative technology, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, BC Online, MYLTSA, and document management systems such as iManage
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, particularly when managing complex documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and professional advisors
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment
- A client-focused mindset, with a commitment to providing responsive, accurate, and professional service
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive client matters
