WSP is seeking an Engineer to join their Land Development and Municipal Engineering Team in Kingston, ON, Canada. The role involves executing and reviewing storm, water, and wastewater design tasks, business development, and responding to proposal requests. The position will have a focus on local projects within Kingston and the surrounding areas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an equivalent program
- Master's degree considered an asset
- Registered as a P.Eng. in Ontario
- 3-8 years of experience working as an engineer in land development and municipal engineering
- Design knowledge of roads and highways, site servicing including storm, sanitary and water, grading and drainage, including stormwater management
- Industry knowledge to competently respond to proposal requests
- Working knowledge of the land development approvals process in Ontario
- Sound knowledge of engineering standards, principles, practices and techniques, including reference guidelines and design manuals used in land development and municipal engineering projects
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and a general understanding of the software design capabilities
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS) and Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (OPSD)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Working experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with other software design and modelling tools considered an asset
- Project management experience considered an asset
- Interest in mentoring engineering graduates and technologists
- Comfortable working independently in both an office and field environment
- Valid Ontario driver's license
