Assistant Resident Engineer - Telecom

WSP Middle East is seeking a dynamic Resident Engineer with expertise in electrical, telecom, and SCADA systems to oversee the planning, design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical, telecom, and SCADA systems for substation projects.

Requirements

• Managing all aspects of electrical, telecom, and SCADA systems and cybersecurity
• Review of site related documentations
• Be well versed with the applicable codes, local regulations and industry standards
• Collaborate with design teams to review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Provide valuable input into the design phase to optimize systems
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment and materials
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical, telecom, and SCADA systems
• Raising the NCR (Non-Compliance Report) and guide the EPC/contractors to resolve issues
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks
• Provide technical support during construction activities and resolve any issues or discrepancies
• Prepare project progress reports, documentation, and as-built drawings
• Investigate and report any safety incidents or near misses
• Monitoring and reporting project progress to senior management
• Cultivate a culture of safety and professionalism within the team
• Assist in training and mentoring junior engineering staff members as needed
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends
