Job Description
Washington County Mental Health Services (WCMHS) is seeking a dedicated Home Intervention Counselor to provide direct care to individuals in crisis at their community-based crisis facility in Barre, VT. This role involves providing emotional support, response to various care situations, and working collaboratively within a trauma-informed framework. WCMHS serves the Washington County community, Orange, Washington, and Williamstown, providing access to education, support, and treatment for mental health challenges and substance use issues.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience providing direct care to individuals in crisis.
- Valid driver's license and safe vehicle.
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, and recovery-oriented treatment models.
- Ability to assess emotional, behavioral, and physical health status.
- Understanding crisis stabilization techniques and trauma-informed care practices.
