Senior Software Engineer II [Wufoo Team]

SurveyMonkey is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join their Wufoo team. The ideal candidate will have experience in backend development, PHP, and Python, and will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining backend systems that power their form-building platforms.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in backend development, specializing in PHP and Python
• Strong expertise in modernizing and maintaining PHP applications, including WordPress-based and standalone web applications
• Experience with Python-based microservices and backend frameworks (e.g., Flask, FastAPI, Django)
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and working with API integrations
• Solid experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query optimization and performance tuning
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for scalable application deployments
• Experience implementing testing frameworks for backend services (PHPUnit, PyTest, etc.)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot legacy systems
• Interest in collaborating across teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving technical excellence
