Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the company's accounting processes and is responsible for assisting with general accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, performing month-end close processes, maintaining compliance with applicable sales tax regulations & filing requirements, managing business license registrations & renewals, and inventory payment management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, or a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar ERP systems).
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, macros, power query).
• Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon, Avalara, etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with sales tax compliance, inventory accounting, and cost accounting is preferred.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and workload, strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Comfortable with using AI and identifying opportunities to improve existing processes using these tools.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
