The Planner II manages production sequence within their area and trade designation while monitoring manufacturing schedule adherence and productivity. This role is responsible for monitoring on time material availability, releasing of production shop orders and tracking of physical and transactional production progress to enable smooth flow of production activities within their area of focus.
Requirements
- Diploma or Technical certification in Trades, Engineering or Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Meet requirements of Canadian Secret and Canadian Controlled Goods Program Security Clearance.
- 2-4 years of experience in planning, ship design, shipbuilding or related trade experience.
- Experience in utilizing ERP software tools for material and inventory planning (IFS is preferred).
- Certificate in Material requirements planning (MRP) is preferred.
- Proficiency using ERP/MRP (IFS Preferred)
- Ability to apply inventory and material management standard principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles including procurement, logistics and inventory management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, product structures and bills of material.
- Knowledge of document control systems and databases.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and planning systems (Primavera and MS Project preferred).
- Proficiency working with CAD/CAM software suite including Ship Constructor (preferred) and AutoCAD.
