Toolmaker

Toolmaker A works to repair and maintain plastic injection mold tools, varying from single cavity low volume to multi-cavity high volume molds. This routinely includes disassembly and cleaning of complex molds, some of which can exceed thousands of pounds in weight and require lifting by an overhead crane to tables in the Toolroom, where intricate and often delicate or expensive components are removed for inspection, repair, and cleaning.

Requirements

• 2-year machine trades program degree or diploma
• Two – Five years’ experience in assembly and reassembly of molds with thorough knowledge & understanding of tooling, tool room practices, and fabricating techniques
• Mechanical aptitude, ability to accurately trouble shoot and problem solve, strong organizational and mathematical skills
