Job Description

As the primary leader within the Quebec team, work closely with Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Canadian Banking Services, and Canadian Wealth Management teams, both in Quebec and nationally, to ensure that strategies and initiatives adequately take into account the Quebec regulatory framework, including obligations stemming from the French Language Charter, the Quebec Consumer Protection Act, and other applicable provincial laws, including requirements imposed by the Quebec Financial Markets Authority (AMF).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in administration, law, finance, or a related field.
- More than 10 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on compliance, internal controls, or operational risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of the Quebec financial regulatory environment, including AMF requirements, consumer protection laws, and the French Language Charter (Bill 96).
- Demonstrated experience in leading governance programs within complex corporate environments.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in both French and English, with the ability to write, advise, and present effectively in both languages.
- Strategic vision and enterprise-wide regulatory understanding.
- Excellent risk assessment, control supervision, and regulatory relationship skills.
- Strong relational skills and ability to influence across business lines and functions.
- Notable leadership presence and solid judgment in complex situations.
- In-depth cultural understanding and respect for the Quebec linguistic and operational context.
