Job Description
The Software Engineer position on the FPGA Firmware Engineer team at the Navy Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic in Charleston, SC, involves designing, developing, and maintaining FPGA firmware components, including Linux applications and drivers. The role requires hardware description language (HDL) skills, system-on-chip (SoC) hardware platforms, and communication with distributed software components. The position contributes to projects within SDR systems and requires strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Requirements
- 5-8 years' experience
- Experience developing and maintaining FPGA firmware components
- Proficient in VHDL
- Comfortable developing in a Linux environment
- Effective complex problem solving skills
