Executive Editor, Picture Books & Novelty, will identify, acquire, and develop high-quality and commercial picture books, board books, and novelty books for the Children’s Book Group.
Requirements
- Acquire and edit 15-20 titles per year
- Proactively identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities for new publishing and development/adaptation of existing IP
- Manage all stages of each title’s print/digital lifecycle
- Collaborate cross-departmentally with marketing, publicity, sales, sub rights, and others
- Establish and develop relationships with literary agents, author, illustrators, and other partners
- Negotiate terms directly with agents, licensors, packagers, and international publishers
- Responsible for title-level P&L creation to meet profitability metrics for picture books
- Attend conferences and trade shows as needed and lead internal/external presentations
