Executive Editor

Executive Editor, Picture Books & Novelty, will identify, acquire, and develop high-quality and commercial picture books, board books, and novelty books for the Children’s Book Group.

Requirements

• Acquire and edit 15-20 titles per year
• Proactively identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities for new publishing and development/adaptation of existing IP
• Manage all stages of each title’s print/digital lifecycle
• Collaborate cross-departmentally with marketing, publicity, sales, sub rights, and others
• Establish and develop relationships with literary agents, author, illustrators, and other partners
• Negotiate terms directly with agents, licensors, packagers, and international publishers
• Responsible for title-level P&L creation to meet profitability metrics for picture books
• Attend conferences and trade shows as needed and lead internal/external presentations
