The Education and Employment Specialist will provide education and employment services to youth at-risk of, or currently experiencing homelessness, to assist them in obtaining positive educational outcomes, developing career plans and attaining and maintaining employment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience in social service setting with youth desirable is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 2 year experience in an educator or employment services environment is required.
- 1-2 years of experience with client engagement is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience leading workshops in job readiness, employment education, filling our resumes and cover letters is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience working in homeless services is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge including word processing, database operations, spreadsheets and other software systems.
- Ability to coordinate and/or oversee the successful completion of projects.
- Experience working with homeless and at-risk youth.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including organizational, detail, and interpersonal.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid California driver’s license and proof of current insurance.
