Health Information Management Coder

The Health Information Management Coder will assist in day-to-day operations of the HIM Department by answering calls, scanning documents, and tracking/processing medical codes. Knowledge of HIPAA standards is required, as is the ability to maintain confidentiality of health information. This role focuses on processing and evaluating requests for releases of information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Coding certification required
• Minimum one (1) year administrative experience preferred
• Previous experience in a psychiatric setting preferred
• Ability to maintain information as highly confidential
• Knowledge of applicable laws and standards affecting health information systems
