Job Description
The Health Information Management (HIM) Technician will assist in the quality management and compliance of the facility’s health information. This role involves collecting, processing, and organizing patient medical records, ensuring they are readily available for authorized users and in compliance with regulations. They will also manage requests for releases of information and maintain accurate documentation.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree in Health Information Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Health Science or Health Information preferred
- Minimum one (1) year experience in Medical Records required
- Knowledge of and adherence to all Federal and State regulations
- Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
