Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Radiant is a startup building a portable nuclear microreactor platform with a focus on rapid deployment and scalability. The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will be a critical part of their power conversion and electrical systems team, responsible for designing and developing the power electronics used in the high-speed reactor. This role involves both hardware design and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Design and develop power electronics for a nuclear power generator.
• Build detailed schematics and use appropriate design and validation tools.
• Apply EMI/EMC strategies and understanding of underlying physics.
• Optimize loss, efficiency, and conduct thermal analysis of the inverter.
• Utilize expertise in gate driver, power stage, magnetics, and controls.
• Conduct modeling and detailed simulation.
• Own the design and build a fully functioning inverter autonomously.
• Perform circuit formal analysis (de-rating, worst-case analysis).
• Optimize for power electronics tools (PLECS, PSCAD, etc.).
• Develop robust low-speed electronics.
• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends.
• Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.
