Job Description
The Senior Director of Exhibition Management is the organization's engine for delivering visitor-ready exhibitions and installations. This role involves managing the exhibition planning and design teams, maintaining budgets and contracts, and ensuring a successful rehang of collections. The position requires a strong understanding of project management, financial oversight, and a commitment to accessibility and sustainability.
Requirements
- Manage departments of Exhibition Planning and Exhibition Design
- Lead each project from kickoff to opening and deinstall, with check-ins at concept, schematic, design development, pre‐installation.
- Set clear deliverables and roles using a RACI chart and track risks.
- Develop exhibition plans and budgets, including financial models.
- Manage vendors and negotiate agreements.
- Coordinate catalogue and digital timelines.
- Co‐develop cases for support and recognition.
- Lead exhibition steering group and make go/no‐go decisions.
- Lead a top‐to‐bottom review of exhibition planning processes.
