Job Description
OakBend Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide care to patients in the Medical/Surgical Unit. The PCA assists licensed nursing staff, performs clerical support, and observes patients to maximize safety. The role requires acceptance of assigned responsibilities and participation in team meetings.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent, or equivalent experience
- Experience in an accredited healthcare facility preferred
- Any one of the following: Certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, Registered Behavior Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Paramedic, or Nursing student with relevant training
- Completion of U.S. Military Hospital Corpsman training
- Current enrollment in an accredited EMT program
- Certification in BLS through the American Heart Association
- Proficient with data entry/computer skills
