Job Description
Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation that protects civilians in situations of violent conflict using unarmed strategies, builds peace side by side with local communities, and advocates for the wider adoption of these approaches. The Project Assistant will provide technical assistance to community volunteers in building their capacity for self-protection and community protection through unarmed strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in social sciences or related area of studies
- A minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience
- Extensive and demonstrated experience in conflict resolution, external relations, and training
- Engagement and building relationship with officials and NGOs, community and relevant stakeholders
- Experience and affinity with participatory training and capacity building
- Good understanding of the current political context in Northwest Myanmar
- Good understanding of the current protection peace building efforts and context in Chin/Magway/Mandalay
- Sound knowledge of training methods and report writing
