Instrument & Controls Engineer II

Leads research, design, and development activities to improve NYPA’s energy services. Designs, constructs, and tests and operates equipment. Ensures that standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness and performance are met throughout all engineering activities.

Requirements

• Providing technical support for routine O&M activities
• Review maintenance practices for suitability and economic reasonableness
• Preparing recommendations for improvement
• Providing lead engineering support of design modification projects
• Observe construction activities and administer on-site technical support
• Provide local operations emergency response, troubleshooting & guidance
• Independently coordinate cross disciplinary activities for the successful development and execution of projects
• Review designs, calculations, specifications, and reports produced by other internal engineers and external consultants
• Ability to apply diverse technical principles and practices
• Collaborative and team-oriented with ability to build relationships with vendors and stakeholders
