Job Description
The NWPD is seeking a Victim Assistance Caseworker to provide crisis intervention and direct support services to victims and witnesses of crime and/or trauma. The role entails establishing and maintaining client files, documenting services provided, and working as part of a team to provide mentorship and guidance to auxiliary staff.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide specialized support services to victims and witnesses of crime and trauma
- Adaptability to dynamic needs of the position and the Department
- Strong decision-making skills
- Ability to exercise confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and details in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
- Ability to pass and maintain a security clearance, including a background check and polygraph
