Medical Assistant

Clinical Support Staff – Medical Assistant at New Jersey Pediatric Neuroscience Institute, responsible for supporting physicians and patients in all aspects of care.

Requirements

• Verifies safeguards and secures patient information
• Obtains all messages from answering service and returns patient calls
• Ensures examination rooms are fully stocked with medical supplies
• Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests
• Communicates with patients and their families as directed and requested by physicians
• Coordinates and reviews physicians and clinical staff schedules for the upcoming 2 weeks
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment
• Keeps equipment and examination rooms in good order
• Maintains current knowledge of, and complies with, established policies and procedures
• Assists physicians and NPs with procedures
• Performs and administers patient testing including but not limited to cognitive and genetic testing
• Provides translation as needed
