Job Description
The Bus Controller is responsible for overseeing safe, efficient, and reliable bus operations, including controlling and monitoring bus operators, service supervisors, maintenance personnel, and more.
Requirements
- Maintains radio communications with operators, service supervisors, and maintenance personnel
- Uses Integrated Vehicle Operations Management System (IVOMS) to maintain scheduled route and service adherence
- Responds to emergency calls and silent alarms immediately
- Coordinates emergency response with public safety and supervisors
- Monitors and controls special and emergency bus movements
- Instructs service supervisors and operators in troubleshooting vehicle failures
- Coordinates system operations and personnel with emergency response agency personnel
- Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers
