The Youth Employment Start-Up Team Lead will oversee the initial 4-month inception phase of the EC Youth program in Sudan. The position requires a leader who can develop a strategic vision, mobilize collaborators, and adapt to dynamic security and access constraints. The team lead will work collaboratively with the EC, prime DRC, Mercy Corps, and partners to develop and execute an inception phase strategy aligned with donor expectations and the requirements of the grant agreement.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in a relevant field, MS preferred
- A minimum of 5-7 years managing field-based development or humanitarian programs
- Experience successfully leading time-bound inception phases with donor approval requirements
- Experience developing strategies to implement interrelated multi-sectoral studies and developing analysis frameworks to interpret their results
- Familiarity with adult learning, adaptive management and program learning processes, such as sensemaking, pause and reflect sessions, and other similar approaches
- Excellent influence, negotiation and representation skills and experience representing programs to donors
- Demonstrated attention to detail, meeting deadlines and working and problem-solving independently and cooperatively
- Excellent facilitation and training skills, ability to train and mentor team members on complex processes and ideas
- Effective English verbal and written communication. Arabic fluency highly preferred
- Ability to obtain a Sudan and Chad visa for deployment to Eastern and Western Sudan
- Ability to deploy in an insecure environment
- Completion of a Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) within the last two years, or commitment to complete prior to deploying
