Mastication Equipment Operator

This position will assist Markit! in executing forestry projects, focusing on the maintenance, preparation, and operation of tools and equipment including heavy machinery. The role involves operating equipment, performing chainsaw work, managing slash, road work, erosion control, equipment maintenance, and adhering to safety standards. Projects are located throughout Colorado and surrounding states, requiring frequent travel (50-75%, potentially up to 100%) with provided lodging and per diem.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in operating heavy machinery
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Must have reliable transportation to, during and from work
• Must pass pre-employment background check
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to perform strenuous outdoor work
• Quick and able learner with strong leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and stress
• Ability to utilize safety procedures
• Physical ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 pounds
• Technical skills and ability to use a smart phone and/or tablet
• English required
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
