Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Utility Locate Lead to join our team! As a Utility Locate Lead, you’ll work hands-on in the field while mentoring and supporting technicians to ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency across all projects.
Requirements
- Lead and support field technicians to complete locate requests safely, accurately, and within required timelines.
- Perform underground utility locates using electronic locating equipment and APWA color standards.
- Read and interpret utility maps and prints to identify underground facilities.
- Assist in training, mentoring, and developing new and existing team members.
- Coordinate with the Utility Supervisor and field staff to manage daily workload and priorities.
- Complete documentation for locates, crossings, and excavation projects accurately and on time.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and operational reviews.
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout all field activities.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and coworkers to ensure efficient operations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and ensure equipment readiness for field projects.
