Jhpiego is recruiting a Maternal Health Counselor for a Maternal and Newborn Health project that will provide vital services to ensure a risk-free delivery for mothers and babies and provide high-quality care.

Requirements

• Coordinate the implementation of high-impact maternal health interventions at all stages of the care continuum, from preconception to postpartum.
• Ensure technical supervision and direct supervision of regional staff according to their assignments, as well as technical guidance to ensure the consistent implementation of project strategies.
• Provide technical advice and support for prenatal care, assisted delivery by qualified personnel, emergency obstetric and neonatal care, and postnatal care.
• Ensure the promotion of respectful maternity care and family-centered care.
• Provide and facilitate in-service training, simulation, and quality improvement skills for healthcare professionals on SMN protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support the strengthening of referral and feedback loops between community, primary, and referral health facilities for vital services.
• Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation teams to ensure effective use of maternal and neonatal health data for program monitoring, review, and adaptation.
• Document activities, results, and lessons learned in maternal health for reports and presentations, and support the identification and dissemination of best practices.
• Share key information and effective approaches in maternal health to inform project adaptations.
