Family Peer Advocate I or II - Genesee & Orleans County GLOW

The Family Peer Advocate is responsible for empowering families and assisting them in navigating and advocating in child-serving systems. This role focuses on providing support to parents as they develop positive approaches to meeting their family's needs, including their own. It requires living experience and a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends, in Genesee & Orleans County, NY.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of "lived experience" (based on program and funder), OR Personal "lived experience".
• NYS Office of Mental Health certification required within 6 months.
• Valid NYS driver's license with clean driving record.
• Knowledge, skills & abilities related to effective communication, cultural competence, and advocate skills.
