The Field Automation Engineer is responsible for hands-on commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support of automated industrial systems. This role plays a key part in configuring, programming, testing, and supporting SMARTECH's equipment at customer sites worldwide.
Requirements
- Configure and commission industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA interfaces
- Troubleshoot automation systems on-site and remotely
- Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs to meet specific project or customer requirements
- Verify system functionality through simulation, testing, and site acceptance procedures
- Interface with third-party subsystems and devices using industrial communication protocols
- Supervise wiring, panel installation, and field instrument integration during equipment setup
- Conduct system training, demonstrations, and customer handovers
- Document technical issues, service activities, and lessons learned for continuous improvement
