Job Description
The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for performing advanced ophthalmic work up, procedures, measurements, and tests to provide data to the provider and assist in patient care. The role requires excellent patient and team management skills and the ability to handle diverse situations. Candidates must pass a Medical Office or Nursing Assistant qualification and obtain certification.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Medical Office, Clinical, Dental, or Nursing Assistant Qualification (consideration for Medical Assistant).
- Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) certification within 3 months of hire and completion of AAO Home Study Course within 6 months of hire.
- 2+ years of clinical experience in ophthalmology or optometry (preferred).
- Previous customer service and multitasking experience preferred.
- Ability to travel for coverage as needed.
