Job Description
The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for performing ophthalmic work up, procedures, measurements, and tests to provide data to the provider and assist in patient care. This role requires understanding of ophthalmology outpatient daily office routine and excellent customer service skills. The technician must be detail-oriented, adaptable, and possess strong communication and management skills.
Requirements
- Obtain and document accurate chief complaints.
- Review patient's medical and social history.
- Perform ophthalmic exam and diagnostic testing.
- Administer eye drops as directed.
- Assist with laser and surgical procedures.
- Maintain quality control and sterilization of ophthalmic equipment.
- Documentation and reporting of surgical co-management.
- Training of new employees.
- Travel to regional offices as needed.
