As a Staff Software Engineer, Applied AI, Commerce AI at Google, you will build foundational systems for conversational agents to scale globally, ensuring a rapid onboarding experience for merchants and a seamless headless implementation. You will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you grow and evolve. Our mission is to become the operational backbone for modern commerce, empowering brands through intelligent, multimodal AI agents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8 years of experience in software development
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
• 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field
• 5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure
• Experience building and scaling platform infrastructure for SaaS or e-commerce products
• Experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction
• Experience in product sense with a focus on developer experience (DX) and merchant tooling
• Ability to work in an agile, ‘0-to-1’ environment, managing projects from conception to launch
