Job Description
This Pipefitter position involves installing and maintaining ships' piping systems, ensuring compliance with blueprints and work orders. Responsibilities include cutting, bending, welding, and fitting pipes for shipboard installations, repairs, and inspections. Candidates should be able to lift 50lbs, work at heights, and understand blueprints and safety regulations. The position is safety-sensitive and requires careful attention to environmental conditions.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Two years of on-the-job training at NASSCO (preferred), or three years' experience
- Blueprint reading and understanding of standards
- Ability to perform pipefitting, bending, welding, and basic marine piping systems
- Ability to work in confined spaces and heights
