Job Description
This is a 2nd shift Machinist III position responsible for performing moderately complex functions related to machine tools, including planning, laying out work, setting up and operating lathes, mills, and grinders to machine parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
Requirements
- Reviews engineering drawings and plans sequence of operations
- Determines cutting or grinding tools to be used and machine speeds and feeds
- Performs various machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, chamfering, and drilling
- Operates and/or performs machine setup for lathes, milling machines, and grinding machines
- May operate CNC machines
- Performs preventive maintenance on machines
