The Treatment Plants Operator will provide expertise in controlling the wastewater treatment process and equipment, inclusive of the operation of the facility, maintenance of the equipment, and laboratory analysis.
Requirements
- Post-secondary study in the fields of wastewater and/or water treatment, environmental management, or an acceptable equivalent.
- Ability to upgrade certifications throughout the course of employment.
- Team player with a positive attitude that can communicate effectively with supervisors and operators on the appropriate technical level.
- Must possess a basic mechanical knowledge and be in good physical condition.
- Must be able to complete tasks with minimal direction and be self-motivated.
- Must be able to comprehend maps, schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; with the ability to speak confidently in a public setting are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Must be innovative, detail-oriented, and methodical.
- Capable of managing conflicting, high-priority assignments.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various levels both internally and externally; able to resolve concerns or complaints.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations, such as calculating volumes, flows, and percentage removals.
- Comprehension of laboratory data, bylaws, and Permit language.
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Vehicle Operator’s License (registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan) with a clear driving record.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
