Job Description
BioLite is looking for a Carbon Project Manager to lead the development, verification, and issuance of carbon credits across our portfolio of clean energy programs in 10+ sub-Saharan African countries. The role requires well-developed quantitative skills, strong project management capabilities, proficient English writing skills, and familiarity with leading carbon methodologies such as Gold Standard, Verra, and the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline
- 4 to 8 Years of managing large field-based projects in Africa
- Experience with carbon offset projects, preferably on household cookstoves
- Experience with digital data collection tools and carbon monitoring tech
- Experience with MRV/dMRV systems, quality assurance, and emission reduction calculations
- Knowledge of UNFCCC Climate negotiations, including the Paris Agreement (Art 6)
- Strong writing, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Experience managing budgeting, planning, and reporting processes
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to travel extensively across sub-Saharan Africa
